making their way in, and also into lehigh valley. we'll also see the raggie, light snow showers. and the upper pennsylvania suburbs. that would be late noon, but rain showers will make their way through the entire area. the lower suburbs, south jersey, and by tomorrow morning, we'll be in the colder air still above freezing, so we will see that steadier snow, perhaps several inches. but for the rest of us, we're going to be looking at rain or sort of a rain/snow mix, especially along the i-95 corridor. it's in the afternoon, sometimes around 1:00 or 3:00 that we see a very fast turnover that we're going to see any rain change to snow, and that mixing line will drop south. we'll see a steady, heavy wet snow. we'll see bursts of snow at --

so everybody that you see in the pink. that's the delineation line, other parts of the philadelphia could see several inches where we could see that 5 to 7, 8-inch snow, even a foot of snow possible for some places, and we get into south jersey and northern delaware, where we'll see the lesser amounts of snow coming down. we'll talk more about the timing of everything when i come back and steve sosna will be here to break down the snow totals. right now a massive effort is until way. >> mitch blacher explains that officials are trying to avoid some of the things that happened on friday. >> reporter: lessons learned from friday's surprisingly

strong nor'easter, to making sure the roads get clear. >> the department will mobilize by midnight. >> reporter: a you will to clear the city's roads. >> i'm going to stay off the roads this time. >> reporter: septa says it will keep service running as long as possible. septa services on all modes of travel. >> during friday's storm septa shut down regional rail service and saw the buses pummeled by falling trees. we are taking preemptive measures to make sure we have adjustments in place. >> wednesday septa will run on the saturday schedule, which is the typical responsibility during the storm.

they're also asking people to stay off the roads during the heart of this storm, advice those that experienced friday's storm are taking. >> it was something else. let's good to montgomery county where they are lining up to fill up. in other parts, neighbors already dealing with damage during the first storm are bracing for round two, all this as crews rush to restore power to the nearly 7,000 people still in the dark. thousands of people in delaware are also without electricity and mow power problems are expected. tim furlong is live in haverford. they're piling on the problems for some people in the area. >> the problems that just keep lingeri lingering. we showed this show in haverford township. the good news is it's off the

power line. so people got the power back. the bad news is there's a big tree in the road. peco is still trying to restore power to 7500 homes and businesses, and again, another storm is now on the doorstep. >> i do feel like the smartest woman in the neighborhood. andy scene, whole house generator, where -- >> we went dark for ten seconds, and then it clicked, and it's been on since. >> obviously eleanor diddant need to -- that's good, because their shelves went bare quickly. >> friday afternoon is when it all started. saturday morning was just a madhouse. we had about 15 generators, and we sold them out in about 20 minutes. >> i was here when a rental generator was coming back in, after every storm, so many of is say they were going to buy a generator, but ended up deciding not to do it. >> it's the same thing with rock

the lee lie valley, police are bracing -- and where business has been booming since doors open this morning. the three items almost everyone wanted, shovels, gasoline and rock salt. one customer told us she wants to be prepared after last week's storm. >> this is worse than we thought it would be, the electricity being out, just dashed everyone's spirits. so i think more people are prepared this time. >> lamp oil, snow blowers and chain saws have also been hot commodities today. it's going to be a much different scene at the shore. >> steve sosna has a look at what it means neighborhood to neighborhood. >> we are expecting a wide variety of conditions, depends on what level of enable, and from low to high, up in the lehigh valley, in burkes county, we're very confident that you will see upwards of a foot of snow. that's because the storm system stays mainly snow.

so as we head through the evening hours, it's a light mixture, but it flips over to snow fairly quickly, and then all day tomorrow, you have difficult driving condition, where the snow is really thumping. the snow could be coming down at 2 i remembers an hour. meanwhile, to your south, up in northern newcastle, this is one of our areas where we have lower confidence, wilmington, up through areas lie smirma and odessa. the reason why you're flitting with the rain/snow line. so at 11:00, you can see the pink. from yiiana to newark, over to new castle, you're dealing with the rain and snow mixture. the pink still around here at 7:00 tomorrow morning. notice the southern end, it's a slam dunk. the northern end is where we flip it over to snow here. the big question is at what time do we do so? that's why it's imperative you check back in with tammie at

11:00 tonight and tomorrow morning at 4:00. the line of changeover will be everything in terms of the snow total and snowfall accumulation. so this evening looking at showers, rain and rain mixes with snow and sleet here during the overnight hours, and rain/show mix continues with the brief burst of heavy snow. and again how long that occurs will determine the accumulations. as you can see the northern end from odessa, that's where we're expecting the highest amounts as we go southward. tammie is breaking down the totals for the entire area. that's coming up in just a bit. if you're still without power, you don't want to hear this. about 19,000 people still in the dark around the area. take a look at this. >> and if you're still without wifi, comcast has opened xfinity wifi hot spots, for anyone who

and police say there was a second suspect who appeared to act as a lookout. bill cosby's lawyers are fighting to keep a long list of women from testifying against the comedian at his upcoming retrial. cosby was up for day two of pretrial hearings today. the comedian's lawyers say the accusers are peddling ancient allegations that would sway the jury. they also want the jury to hear the details of cosby's secret settlement with the woman he's accused of sexually asauce the in 20 on 4. coming up, travel troubles, for people hoping to fly the friendly skies. and how this wicked weather is creating new fears about a longtime landmark in new jersey. and the time you don't want to be on the roads? look at this. 3:00 in the afternoon heavy snow will be coming down. heavy wet snow making for a dangerous commute. we'll break down the snow totals when i come back.

as you would expect, the major storm could legal to big delays. some airlines are handing out those weather waivers that allow flyers to change their plans without paying the feels.

details vary, but most cover flights on wednesday and thursday. pa as always, check with your airline about what's happening with the schedule. the latest coastal storm could lash the jersey shore with more beach erosion in the very same spots nbc 10 jersey shore bureau reporter has the story. >> reporter: with yet another coastal storm threatening the jersey shore, growing worries in north wildwood. >> we're a bit nervous. it looks like we lost a lot of our beach. >> reporter: today urgent effort to shore up a highly vulnerable spot between 6th and 7th avenues, just south of where the bulkhead ends. >> we do have some concern where this storm could get ahead of us. >> the area took a beating from last week's nor'easter. >> if the storm gets through the do you know system where we

don't have a bulkhead, there's really nothing protecting the infrastructure. >> reporter: in cumberland county, emergency work to keep it away from the historic and just restored eastpoint lighthouse. >> the next step is basically nothing. >> reporter: the previous storm caused a bay to breach, sending water within feet of the second older lighthouse. >> the only thing left to hit is the foundation of the lighthouse. >> reporter: a form larger berm was built in december, in the hopes it would stay in place, but it only lasted like six weeks. >> a long-term fix is planned, but it won't come quickly enough to ease fears about the fate of this maritime beacon. it is the calm before the storm. >> we are expecting a much

different scene in the city in just a matter of hours. tammie sousa is tracking the timing you constituent have time to get the errands. gelt a little foot in the and then the snow move in tomorrow. this is what you can expect on wednesday. we'll see heavy we had snow piling up, especially in the afternoon. but pretty much the entire area with the exception of the beach areas will start to pile up for the a. trees and power lines will come down, branching will come down. so be aware of that. we're probably going to see more power outages. it will be snow-packed, and

across the area with a lot of we had, heavy snow, and possibly branching and trees, so doppler radar is picking up a bit of a mix. it's very light shower activity, but we have the cold air coming in, and rain coming in from the south. you can see it starting to spread and into parts of delaware. this would continue through the evening. we're watching the southern system come in up the coastline with the energy, and the cold air wrapping around. they're both going to come together right off the shoreline, and we'll start to see later tonight the rain spread across the area. look what happens. by 1:00 in the morning, temperatures have dropped down near or below freezing for a lot of the upper pennsylvania suburbs. that is snow. wet, heavy snow coming down by the wee hours of the morning. still a mix, and we have rain across all the beach areas in southern delaware. then we get into 7:30 in the

morning. some areas just -- you could be looking at we had, had evidenty snow. everything in downtown center city, look at the suburbs. then we see a bit of a wobble. look at this mixing line. rain in south jersey, temperatures in the -- and then we see a very quick transition. here it comes. the cold air comes in, and look at the snow, we stay in the snow until 8:00, 9:00 at night, heavy snow, a bit of a transition, and then out of here by midnight or so. this is what we're looking at. the wide picture. we could see anywhere from 7 to 10 to 12 inches, lehigh valley. the lower suburbs, and some parts of philadelphia could see 6 inches. we could see anywhere from, say 2 to 4 inches for south jersey, even into northern delaware and out along the beaches nothing or

perhaps just a dusting is all you'll see. look at your neighborhood weather. we see some snow early in the morning, 36 tomorrow at 8:00 in the morning, snow mixing with rain. let's go to the pennsylvania suburb. you are below freezing tomorrow morning. lehigh valley, look at this, below freezing, you have no coming down on the roadways, delaware at rain at 8:00 in the morning, new jersey and out along the beaches. so we're going to go neighborhood by neighborhood. this will transition all day long, which is why you kind of need to stay with us. it's going to be a constantly changing situation throughout the day. hey, i'm john clark. who is returning for the flyers tomorrow night? we'll hear from the philly that is exciting fans at spring training, that is next. sorry. i can't make it.

it all starts tonight. let's look at our radar. doppler shows we're starting to get light rain showers. it's still too warm for any snow showers, and a lot is saturating the atmosphere, but we are expecting it to saturation overnight. we'll see rain at the onset and snow in the lehigh burks -- you could see a couple inches of snow. the rest of the area, rain transitioning to snow later tomorrow. these are the totals we're expecting. 7 to 12 inches, lehigh valley, burks county. 5 to 9 inches in the lower pennsylvania suburbs. in philadelphia, 2 to 6 inches, whilst the airport could see 2, and that transitions down through south jersey to almost nothing at the beaches.
