ACP076 Vertical67 - Wicklow House
Thomas V67 recently had a visit to Ireland, and on his return to Berlin decided to make this EP as a little ode to his experiences here on the green isle.

Well, a fellow German going on vacation to Ireland. Now that's some new idea. (Now that was some new joke. Hahaha) One should be aware that presenting his impressions to the world might cause harmless individuals to assume that you are going to expose them to some sort of sonic equivalent of the dreaded "Dia-Abend". Indeed the first two tracks composition is awful enough to confirm their assumption. Nice pictures, good camera but not exactly brilliant work: note lines that are nether consistant in their order nor in the right tune. Not so track tree "cliffwalk" with it's surprisingly powerful and consequent tribal backline. Way better, one can a glimpse of the tension between rock and the sea below and feel the tight breeze.
WIth the fourth track the release performs an interesting spin towards future/electronic jazz. Not bad. Interesting, even tricky basslines. Also the way more complicated scales fit almost perfectly now. Why did the producer spoil it's work with these first two tracks? They just can't compete with the rest and they do a terrible job as an entry.
